Human Trafficking & Sexual Exploitation

My Journey

In 2011, I traveled to Thailand, where I first encountered the devastating realities of human trafficking by working with victims on the streets, brothels, and shelters. Once I returned home to Virginia, I was shocked to learn how prevalent the problem was in my own community. This ignited a passion within me to be a voice for the voiceless and led to the founding of a nonprofit in Northern Virginia in 2014, Reset180, dedicated to combating human trafficking.

Over the years, I had the privilege of founding and leading Reset180. Hard working staff and volunteers continue to provide education to communities, services to survivors who had been recovered from sex and labor trafficking, outreach to victims and sex buyers, and disruption to trafficking networks. This work was born out of my deep calling and obedience to God during those pivotal years, answering His mandate to destroy the works of the enemy and set the captives free.

God moved my husband and I to Missouri to start a new ministry in 2022, but this important work I started continues through ensuring that survivors receive the services & support they need, while communities are equipped to stand against sexual exploitation.

Interesting facts;

  • 4 out of 5 victims Reset180 serves are American citizens

  • 50% of victims are referred by law enforcement

  • Since 2014, Reset180 has served 1,100 victims and survivors of human trafficking.
